Brittany Ferns is an Australian Visual Artist based in Newcastle, NSW. She holds a Bachelor of Visual Communication and Design and spent ten years working as a textile designer and graphic designer in Sydney and Los Angeles.

Her paintings stream from the beauty of simple things, like the view from a window, a shop seller in Mexico, tropical palm trees and the subtle decay and peeling layers of faded paint from building walls. With a soft, pastel colour palette and textured, scratched back layers, her paintings evoke a sense of escape.  

With a visual proposition from her past travels, her work shows a passage of time through memory, while exploring the idea of imperfection and impermanence over time.
